Four week, visiting medical student rotation

This is a four-week elective in which visiting students are exposed to the field of radiation oncology and cancer management. Students from LCME-accredited medical schools are invited to take this elective. DO students, see more information in the link. 
Students see the breadth of the specialty by rotating through all faculty clinical services. This elective is targeted for students primarily interested in pursuing a career in oncology. If applying for a radiation oncology residency, it is recommended that you complete your rotation prior to October 1 of M4 year. 

Multidisciplinary Cancer Care Elective

A two-week Multidisciplinary Cancer Care Elective was developed in conjunction with Internal Medicine's Oncology Division.
 

This elective is intended not only for those interested in radiation oncology, but for any student in any specialty who will encounter patients with cancer.

 

Radiation Oncology for Medical Students (4 sh)

Integration of clinical oncology, physics, and cancer biology; clinical work with faculty mentors; experience in clinical evaluation, technical physics, biological application.

Intended for any University of Iowa medical student interested in a career in oncology or an oncology-adjacent field (ie pathology, radiology, surgical specialties). Recommend rotating prior to September if potentially applying for residency in radiation oncology.
