Congratulations to Lillian Wischmeyer, a senior in the University of Iowa Radiation Therapy program, who was awarded two scholarships at the recent Radiation Sciences Scholarship Reception.

Wischmeyer, of Mount Vernon, Iowa, received the Scot Heery Scholarship and the June M. Nielsen Scholarship. 

The Scot Heery Scholarship honors the memory of longtime UI Department of Radiology Senior Imaging Technologist Scot Heery, who was known as a dedicated colleague, mentor and teacher committed to patient care and student learning. 

The June M. Nielsen Scholarship was established through a gift from Nielsen’s son, Kai, in memory of his mother, a 1955 graduate of the University of Iowa School of Radiologic Technology who went on to work for 26 years as a radiologic technologist.
